Hello, it is coming towards the end of the month but I still have lots of BeerShoptober blogs to post. This one is all about Highbury Vintners and this shop can be found on 71 Highbury Park with the closest stations Arsenal and Highbury & Islington only a short walk away. This is one of the few shops that I have been to before. I visited in the summer when I reviewed Camden Town Beers.
As you may have guessed from the name Highbury Vintners does specialise in wine but they also have a fantastic range of spirits and more importantly beer. Check out their website for more information and online orders. They do have beers to buy online but only a small selection so you may as well visit the shop.
So lets talk about beer. I was very impressed by the range of beer they have. As you can see from the gallery they have a whole wall dedicated to Craft Beer but they also have some Real Ales and European beers in there as well. They feature the usual suspects Beavertown and Kernel as well as the exciting Weird Beard Brewing Company. I have been to beer shops with a bigger range but few can compete with the prices of Highbury Vintners. As well as individual bottles they also sell multipacks with 6 Anchor Steam Beers only £12. They also sold my favourite Schlenkerla Rauchbier Marzen for an unbelievable £2.60. So these are only a few examples and there are many more beers which I am sure you will spot in the gallery.
As I have said the shop does primarily specialise in wine but the staff really know their beer. So if you are in North London I highly recommend visiting Highbury Vintners as you will come away with some great beers without having to break the bank.
